HTA is a multidisciplinary process that uses explicit methods to determine the value of a health technology^* at different points in its lifecycle. The purpose is to inform decision-making in order to promote an equitable, efficient, and high-quality health system.^{1 3}

HTA 是牽涉到跨學門知識用以輔助決策的程序；其過程採用明確的方法學來議定某項醫藥科技^* 在其生命週期不同階段的價值。 其目的是為決策者提供資訊，以促進公平、高效率和高品質的醫療衛生體系。^{1 3}

^* health technology: An intervention developed to prevent, diagnose or treat medical conditions; promote health; provide rehabilitation; or organize healthcare delivery.²

^* 醫藥科技：為預防、診斷或治療身體病況；促進健康；提供復健；或組織醫療保健服務等目的而開發的各種介入。²
